Water Damage, Battery not charging. Worked until battery drained

Hello!

My Mum dropped some coffee on top of her Macbook Air. I managed to open it, dry it and cleant it with Isopropyl Alcohol 99%. After a few days of drying the computer booted up but I never got it to charge the battery or work with AC Adapter. It worked until the battery was drained and nothing has happened ever since.

Any ideas on where shall I start testing? I already bought a new IO Board which didn't work so it's clearly not that.

I got the schematics of the board but I have no idea where I should start testing. Does someone has any idea?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Try looking up Lious Rossman on youtube. He has a whole channel explaining how to troubleshoot these problems. If you have a basic understanding of electronics then this is a great way to start

Double check the connector for the I/O board. When replacing my upper case, I found that the pins had been bent back in my haste. I found that the magsafe connector didn't light up when this was the case.

Also, it might just be that the power button is U/S. In which case you'll need to replace the whole upper case. Not that difficult as you might think, just a lot of steps.

Cheers

Open the bottom case and unplug the battery. It has a clear tab on it. Pull out not up. Then plug charger in and perform SMC reset. Lights on charger will change from amber to green. Normal. After Reset, should power on. Replace battery. Hope this works.

Didn't see date of OP's post.
