This is a big job so make sure your upto it.
First you'll need to remove the lid assembly. Follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Early 2011 Display Replacement. Once you have taken the display fully off jump to this guide MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009 AirPort/iSight Cable Replacement. Here we want to jump down to Step 25 to see how the Clutch cover is fitted. You shouldn't need to pull the glass off to remove the cover alone. Most techs just replace the full assembly as taking the glass off is not easy and often leaves a messy edge.
