Why is my screen blacked out with faded areas and colored lines?

LG G3

A large smartphone by LG, released in fall 2014. The LG G3 (D855) boasts a Quad HD IPS display and a 13-megapixel camera.

My LG G3's screen is completely deformed and the worst thing is I have no clue

how it ended up this way...

About a third of the screen is blank and there are faded vertical stripes and lines

littering the screen.

Like I said I'm not sure how this happened, all I know is that the screen is not cracked

at all...

Please help me with a diagnosis for my wounded companion. (pics below)

Options

Have you ever dropped your phone before? It seemed that your lcd screen was damaged though there was no crack on it. You have to change the screen.

I forgot my phone at my parents place and there are little kids around over the weekends so I figure it must have taken a spill.

I need to know if I replace the lcd / digitizer will it completely cure my phone or could there be other internal components that are damaged?

What do you think regarding the photo?
