Why my phone can't read(activate) the sim card from anothe country

am a Rwandan,i brought my iPhone 6s.mode A 1549 in chine because is there i studied,then after finishing my studies i shift at home in African.so when i put a sim card from Rwanda my phone can't activate that sim card display no service

Hi,

Is you iPhone unlocked? Is it locked to the carrier you had in China? If it is you need to get it unlocked for it to work where you are.
