MacBook Air isn't responding to the sensors

My MBA isn't responding to any of the sensors. The fan is running high, the battery is not available following the menu bar, when I close my MacBook the screen/OS are still running and are not going to sleep mode.

When I run TG Pro or SMC FanControl I am not getting any sensors. These programs are saying the fan isn't spinning (0 RPM)

Who can help me out?

Best regards,

Matthijs

You maybe running out of drive space so the system is unable to close out files which is why it won't go into sleep mode as well as post updates to the apps as they can't find free space to create their needed work space. You should have about 1/3 of the drive free.

First make sure you close down all of the open apps and extensions that are running (some may not close). You'll need to free up disk space delete as much junk as you can (don't forget to empty the trash can). Make a backup of anything important.

Once you can shutdown your system, you'll need to boot your system up under an external drive so you can check the drive. Run Disk Utility and do a repair permissions & disk. See if that fixes things first.

Next try resetting the SMC, follow this Apple T/N: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac.

SMC reset fixed it thanks for helping. My drive has enough space left so I think it was a SMC problem. Thanks
