Why is my iPhone stuck in dock mode?

my iphone is stuck in dock mode. whenever i unlock my iphone it gives a notification to whether turn airplane mode on or off. ipod isn't giving any volume bar nor is it playing any songs. and when i plug in the computer usb cable or dock then it gives me the volume bar. i dunno what to do..i've even tried cleaning it..with toothbrushes..with lighter fluids..nothing happens..has it gone useless? i've even updated the software n all..it doesn't make any difference..

try holding "Power" and "Home" until it does a hard reset, instead of slide to power off, keep holding it until it reboots by itself, this might fix it
