Repeating "Kernel Panic" Unable to start up

Hi,

My battery discharged and when it was restored with power somethning had gone wrong.

According to what i have read on the internet my computer is experiencing a "Kernel Panic", and the report that the computer is providing me with before it restarts it self is the following (I managed to take a picture and write it off, and some characters varies from time to time so its only as exact as possible):

What I have understood is that you might need to reboot the OS-X system with the CD you received with the box, but unfortunately i have thrown it away.

I have access to an elderly computers OS-X install DVD (version 10.5.6) and other Mac computers if necessary. I'm worried that all my files will be deleted in the process since I don't have a back up, and therefore i have not tried any suggested solutions that I have found.

I am grateful for any solution that matches my computer, But of course preferably so I can save the content of my computers hard drive first.

Options

Kernel panics are typically software related (OS and/or Apps). Sometimes it's a clue when a HD is starting to fail.

You'll need to find a friend (or you're own 2nd system) with a Mac that is running at least the same OS version as your own system here (nothing older). Then prep a 16 GB or larger thumb drive using Disk Utility so it's running GUID and partitioned with a journaled partition. Next, download if you haven't already the needed OS installer from the Apps Store and install the OS onto the thumb drive. Once setup copy over to it the OS installer as you will likely needed it.

Now with your thumb drive in hand plug it in your system so it boots up. Press the Option key and select the thumb drive as your boot drive. Before you do anything copy off your important files (backup your stuff). Your system should be stable at this point if not let me know.

Once you have your stuff saved run Disk Utilty from the thumb drive run repair permissions and then repair disk. See if that fixes things rebooting under your internal drive. If it still fails startup under the thumb drive again and install onto it a good virus checker with the current def files and then run it to make sure you don't have anything on your drive. If you find something you might need to not only clean it off but need to re-install the OS as well. Good Luck!
