Dropped a dumbbell on phone, won't stop searching for service!

It happened while working out. The phone still connects to wifi and texts and all but it can't find service. Now the frame is bent on the phone, screen isn't cracked or anything. Could it just be the frame thats broken or the logicboard or something. I already reset the phone and changed out the sim.

So the answer I'm really looking for is should I buy a frame and just do a straight swap, and buy an 'antenna' OR called it a lost cause and buy a new phone.

Also, this phone was bought on ebay, not under apple care and not under carrier warranty. Thanks!

This is tough to diagnose without being able to look at the device.

It's 100% possible it is just an antenna that's disconnected, but unfortunately, it's also likely that the dumbbell could have damaged something board-level on your iPhone 6.

It's obviously good news that your device is still working fully with the exception of your cellular service (this is what leads me to believe it could be just an antenna issue).

Investing in a frame without knowing the extent of the damage is a tough call. I would first open your device (if you're willing to do frame-swap anyway), and see if you notice anything obvious disconnected.

Feel free to send some photos this way!
