Why doesn't film advance after four shots?

After I take four or five photos and the film has advanced, suddenly it won't advance after I take a shot.

I can only can refer to the IFIX service & repair guide Canon T70.

But my guess; bad batteries or battery contacts, or a dirty or defective spool rubber

page 28(24).
