Replacing thermal paste to quiet fans?

Hi all. I have an early 2009 MacBook Pro that is still in great condition. However, the fans these days seem to be a little louder, and I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to replace the processor thermal paste in an attempt to quiet them down. I've cleaned out the fans so there's no dust blocking them, but they're still loud. Any suggestions?

Did you remove the fans and clean the vent? Are they running at a higher speed or just making noise?

I removed the fans and cleaned the dust out from both them and the vent. They are just running at a higher speed.
