It depends on the mechanism, but there are a couple of things that can be done to fix fuzzy print. You should be able to tell if it is thermal or inking.

  • If it has an ink cartridge of any kind, you should be able to clean the printer with an old soft bristle toothbrush. As long as you are careful, you should be able to brush out and dirt that has built up in the characters in the printer.
  • If it is thermal, then you may have an electronic problem and it may not be fixable. You can try cleaning the thermal print head with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol and see if that makes any difference. Also, if it is thermal, make sure the paper is the correct kind.
