battery and fan replaced - still struggling to fire up

Hi I've replaced the battery and the fan, after 2 or 3 attempts it fired up to desktop, I set the time and date and then the cursor froze and it started overheating. I turned it off and started process again but now it struggles to turn on.

I can hear the fan but if left too long it gets hot. Its a 2010 model. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Can you give us the year, or better yet, can you give us the full serial number so we can correctly identify your system.

What made you replace the fan? Also boot the mac holding the shift key, then report back.
