Using mac without mounted lcd

Hi!

I recently lost my air on the ground. So i bought a new macbook pro.

But i have taken the Air apart and it is just the lcd screen that is broken..

Since i already have a new mac, i was wondering if it is possible to just use the macbook air without the lcd display on the computer..

I have now demounted the display and have just the bottom part ready to be mounted again.

Can i just connect the bottom half to a TV or computer screen and use it as it is without the display mounted? just take the antenna from the lcd and mount outside on bottom half.

Is this a good question?

I would leave the display on Vs taking it off. Having the antennas loose will just put stress on them causing them to fail. Put some tape on the screen if the glass is broken. Then when you have some spare cash replace the lid assembly.

If i get the antenna on a secure place, it will then work?

Im not intrested in fixing it, costs more that i would spend on a similar macbook..

I just thought it could be good to use as stationary computer. and use the mouse and keyboard on it..

But will it work?

I don't see any good way to secure them that they still won't be exposed to damage, the lid protects them. How badly is the lid/display damaged? As to costs I've see a few water damaged airs going for a song. Often the display still works. Do a little googling I think you might find a junker for 100 US or less!

That's how I test out displays, by hooking up an external monitor.

so it will work with the whole display assembly off then?

It should if it's just the display.
