MacBook Pro freezes when connecting to HDMI after screen replacement

Hi!

After I replaced the screen on my Macbook Pro it freezes when I try to connect the Mac to TV via HDMI cable. Nothing works and I have to force shutdown with the off button.

I followed the guide linked to further down and did everything right.

The only thing that happened was in Step 4 when I tried to pry the battery connecter a little piece of the corner of the connecter broke of. It doesnt have any cables or anything connected to it.

And in Step 5 when the Airport/Camera antenna cables is disconnected, I just assumed the shortest cable was ment for the socket nearest and the middle in the middle and the longest on the end.

The first time I tried to turn on the Mac after replacement there was no light in the screen. But after I reconnected the Display data cable it worked.

This was maybe a little bit messy in the description, but if anyone have any experience with this problem I would love to hear from you (:

Merry Christmas

Sounds like you did it correctly. Try zapping the PRAM on startup three times. Command, option, p, r. Let it ding three times then let it go.

Thanks! But it didnt help much :/ I tried it a couple of times, but the same happens..

I noticed the same happened when I tried to go to an online radio. So it seems to be some trouble when the mac is connecting to some types of audio..?

But im going to delete and reinstall everything on it on Mondag, so that might help!

I'm not really a Mac user, but I know sometimes with a Windows based computer you have to check the settings in the control panel. Other than that, there may be something shorting out when you plug the cable in since you did have some problems with breakage and all.

Hmm. I´m not really sure there is any settings to see on settings before I connect it with a TV. I might just be stupid and didnt notice it, but I didnt see any!

There has been a couple of times when the screen doesnt response now also. I just hope there isnt anything serious with the cables so I have to order a new screen again! :p

But thanks for your answer! (:
