Broke hard drive socket off of motherboard trying to install ssd

While trying to disconnect the hdd from the mother board the socket came off of the board along with the cable. The socket is damaged and im not sure about the board. Can a new socket be purchased and fitted?

Yes from a parts board can you show a picture to see how bad the damage is , it's possible it will take advanced soldering techniques.

Are you sure you broke it? Take a good picture of both the socket and the cable end, then post them in your question (edit it).

Maybe you only damaged the cable side. If not this is not something I would recommend you try to fix on your own (even I don't get this bold).

If you did damage the socket it's time to have someone very skilled in SMT soldering to try to fix it if it can be. Often the solder pads get damaged to the point you need a new logic board.
