My iMac Is dead should I buy another one?

My IMac has been overheating to the point where it can't turn on anymore and I already have to people at fry's electronic tech support ship the Mac back to the apple company to repair or replace the power issue twice but whenever I get my Mac back it turns on for a good 10 min then shut off or restart can anyone identify my problem or do I have to get a new iMac

I forgot to mention that I'm afraid to get a new I Mac because all my family photos are backed up on to the old one unless the Apple Store can transfer those photos to the new Mac I won't have to ask this question

Don't you have a local Mac repair guy? If it only works for 10 minutes it should be covered under a 30 day repair warranty. Your data should be safe. Put the drive into an external enclosure to access the data. Next remove the frame and tell us what the diagnostic lights are telling you.
