Bad battery life after replacement

I replaced my battery about a month ago with an OEM from here. All went well, and the battery works fine, except my time from fully charged is even worse than before... 3-4 hours tops, and often it goes from 25% to dead in about 1 minute.

I checked and my system profile says:

Full Charge Capacity: 3016

Cycle Count 35

Condition: Service Battery

Any suggestions? My computer is becoming rather unusable...

Thanks

Does the old battery wear out at the same speed.

by

no, it was not as bad as this. it was just a 3 year old battery... with like 600 cycles on it.

Sounds like a bad battery?...the one you ordered ...try this run the thing all the way down till the laptop finally shuts off let it sit few hours don't turn it on let it fully charge then see what happens.

by

That won't be hard, I'll give it a try.

So I did as suggested. Got few hours out of the battery before it died.

Interesting, checked my System info and now get:

Full Charge Capacity: 2907

Cycle Count 35

Condition: Service Battery

So in one cycle the batter dropped about 100 mAh.... in capacity.

Hello,

It's very possible you got a bad battery however typically when batteries reach their limit they will change to the condition of "Replace Now". Service Battery can sometimes be fixed by power cycling the battery. To do this, drain the battery as low as it will possibly go (down to 0%) and then leave it plugged in until it reaches 100% capacity. Leave it plugged in a few hours longer than what the indicator within the OS says of the percentage (It may be giving a false reading). After its fully charged drain it down once more and it should be fixed upon the next charge. If for some reason it is still acting strangely and discharging rapidly it is in fact a bad battery and I would replace it / get a refund as soon as you can.

Best of luck!!!

Charge Information:

Charge Remaining (mAh): 2526

Fully Charged: Yes

Charging: No

Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 2537

I again discharged the battery fully... now my full charge capacity is even lower....
