The screen will not work! Anyone know why?

The screen on my Kindle Fire is black, but the sound still works. When I hold the power button, I can hear it making the sound to turn off. The same with the volume. Its fully charged and still nothing. I haven't used the Kindle for at least a month. If anyone has an answer, please help me!
