Is it posible to replace the ethernet port?

Im not sure what happened but my ethernet port is no longer recgonizing my cord. Is there any way to fix it at home? (I know for sure that the problem is the port on the xbox)

Hi,

Couple of things.

1. Have a look with a magnifying glass into the ethernet port and make sure that none of the connector strips have moved out of position, i.e. that they are all straight and parallel.

2. As it might be the controller chip that is faulty, it may be easier to use a USB WiFi adapter so that you can connect your Xbox to your wireless router for internet access, than to try and replace the chip.

Ok i check but everything seems in order, it has a built in wifi adapter but for online gaming a wired connection is way better thank you for answering though.

Hi,

Found this info online, you might have already tried this, if so apologies.

"If this error has still not been fixed..

1. research the make and model number of your router

2. login to the router home page (192.168.1.1)

3. set a dedicated ip to your xbox's mac address

4. reset the router and xbox

5. the error should be restored"

Don't know if it works or not, but it shouldn't take long to set up and try.

It came from this link.
