iPhone 3G Rear case assembly + front panel assembly = complete iPhone?

Hi,

I bought iphone front panel kit last week from ifixit. But it does not include the chip to run the display. Does the rear case assembly sold on ifixit have the processor and input keys to run the complete display ?

Thanks for answering.

There are many more parts to the phone then the front panel assembly and the rear case assembly. They are just parts sold to repair broken phones, not meant to build a new phone from scratch.

not sure what you mean by chip for the display. do you have all 3 ribbon connectors for the front display? 1 is for LCD, 2 is digitiser and 3 is for the proximity, ear piece. these should all be attached from the front panel. no 3 is located on the back of the metal lcd cover. there is no seperate piece to be purchased to make it work. maybe you need to tinker with the connections again to make it work...

take a look at the ifixit guide for the front panel and it shows how to take it apart and therefore how to put it back together again.

hope this helped.
