The thick battery does not fit

I got the thick battery kit to replace in the ipod classic... and even looking at it, it seemed pretty thick.. there is no way I can snap the front of it together with it. How is it possible that it says it fits.. but does not?

The screen itself is bowing out a little bit, unless the battery has been swollen past the normal size.. Works great though for now. I think I'll have to get the thin battery... unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. It seems pretty hard not to put it flat in the housing.

The thick battery is for the 6th Gen 160gb that has the thicker hard drive and deeper back shell. Those batteries also fit the 5th Gen's that have the thicker 8mm hard drives. They won't fit in the thin classic.

I swapped out for the thin battery.. It was not too tight width wise, and I put a pad so it wouldn't rattle.. But it fit. I think the thick battery was swollen a bit.. But that's fine with the thin battery it seems to work the same as before.

you very well could have a bad battery. compare it to another of the same type battery and you'll see its bloated. you most likely purchased a cheap battery from china.

I got it straight from I fix it.. :( serial number said it should fit.. But it's probably 4mm too thick. The last snap won't close and I can see the imprint bowing the screen. I emailed ifixit... At least the battery works :)

I have the same problem. First I got a thin battery and that was too wide, so i got the thick battery (both from fixit) and the case will not close.
