Updating the firmware on iOS after replacing the Home Button.

Hello guys, how are you?

I have a question. If you know how to answer, thank you so much!

Today, the Home Button of my iPhone 5S was replaced. On Apple, they asked a very high price to change the button, so I prefered to change to a regular button, with no fingerprint sensor.

I was told and I read that if I try to update iOS through iTunes with this aftermarket button, that iTunes will show the error 53.

My question is: if I update it through the phone itself, in the Settings, will it show that error again? Not going through iTunes.

I'm wanting to update to 9.2.

Cheers, and thank you!

Yes. Updating your iOS. With an aftermarket button, will brick your phone. If you have the old button. You may be able to update and then put the aftermarket button on. But, I can't guarantee that

I have the old button, the repair shop gave me just in case.

But it would take a lot of work just to update. Thanks! :)
