What exactly do I need to replace?

Background

I recently dropped my Toshiba Satellite E45t-B4204 laptop, cracking the top right corner of the screen. The image under the glass works perfectly fine, but the computer has lost its touchscreen capabilities. I don't mind this, but I don't want the cracked glass to become a problem in the future. I've been looking at options to resolve my dilemma, but I don't know which way would be best for me. I have little to no experience fixing computers/technology, but I want to spare my wallet, so I'd like to do the repairs myself.

Question

I guess I'm asking if I should buy a screen like the ones offered on http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/mode..., or if I should just buy a new digitizer/whatever I need.

You should really think of replacing the screen.

It looks like you can just replace the digitiser. On smartphones the digitiser and LCD are often bonded together and separting them in order to replace just one or the other is very difficult, but since this site offers both individually it strongly suggests they're not bonded. It shouldn't be hard to do. Prepare yourself by watiching any relevant videos or disassembly guides you can find, and make sure you have a suitable set of screwdrivers. The iFixit Jimmy is often very useful for separating the bezel from the screen shell but you can use a thin knife with care.
