MacBook Pro late 2009. DVD Player.

I have been trying to get my wife's laptop working again. You have done great with a new battery, and mag charger connector. After making a mistake in the order I finally got it right. But her dvd player is still not working. You had a replacement but was out of stock. Unfortunately got it from another supplier. It starts up but doesn't show up in the system. DO I need a different connector? It is an 8x/LG DVDrw DL (GS23N).

Options

Go under Finder next to the Apple in the upper left hand corner to > Preferences and make sure the CD drive box is checked.
