Will the iPhone 4 work with camera removed?

Hi guys, I work in a high security environment and want to use the iPhone 4 with the just the back 5MP camera removed.

Does anyone know if the phone will be functionable with the camera module removed? And what happens when I activate the camera app?

Options

You can install the Apple Configuration Utility.

This will enable you to install profiles onto your phone(s).

You can disable the camera using this app.

and install a strong password to stop the configuration from being taken off.

I use it personally to push out exchange settings and certificates, i also disable the installation of apps e.t.c on some devices that i don't want users messing around on.
