Replaced battery, but it still drains.

Hi!

I just successfully replaced the battery of my Ipod classic 7th gen (Thank you ifixit!!!) that I was stupid enough to forget outside this spring. I had hoped that changing the battery should do it, but it still drains quickly, makes a weak noise even when turned off, and quite a loud one when charging.

Which parts should I check out next? I am considering the jack and the usb-entry, as they are the places that would have been most exposed to moisture and might have corroded?

Try completely draining the battery then charging it full to 100%. Don't touch it until it gets 100%. The new battery me need to be calibrated. If that doesn't work try doing a restore on the Ipod. If that doesn't work it could be the charging port since it was left outside. That is apart of the motherboard though and you would have to have good soldering skills. At this point I would say the motherboard could be trashed. Or even the hard drive. It is hard to tell in a situation like this. Good luck.
