Dynamic Perspective stopped working (right after 1 yr warranty ended)

Less than two weeks after the one year warranty expired on my Fire Phone, the Dynamic Perspective stopped working. Everything else is working great, was even able to side load Google Play.

Any ideas on things that could have gone wrong, or suggestions on things to try to get it working again? My phone wasn't dropped, it was never splashed or submerged in liquid. I already did a factory reset twice. I confirmed Dynamic Perspective is enabled in the settings. The lock screen animation still works, just the 3D effect doesn't work.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

The info in this link re Dynamic Perspective and Amazon store apps may be of interest. This is just one quote that may be relevant "...Other apps may not work properly either, and as I mentioned earlier, some of them may even adversely affect the defining features on the Fire". Here is the link. http://www.engadget.com/2014/07/22/amazo...

Just wondering if a recently installed app or app update has somehow affected the DP of your phone.

Thanks for the response! I thought of that possibility, but according to Fire phone technical support, a factory reset brings everything back to original state and the DP should work. When the problem started, I hadn't installed any new Google Play apps, or even Amazon apps, for at least a couple months, pretty much had all the apps I needed, and it was working fine.

Hi,

Out of left field thought. The 4 sensors (one in each corner) haven't become obscured, with say a screen protector or something else perhaps? I think I read that at least two need to be "free" (usually from user's fingers/palm etc) for the DP to work.

No, no screen protector. I'm assuming it's a common cause though, that was the 2nd question the Fire Phone tech asked (after if I had done a factory reset).

Hi,

Final thought. Have you checked that you have the latest phone update installed? I assume the Fire Phone tech would have asked this, but you never know. Just in case there was a "fix" issued, given as you say it seems a fairly common complaint about the phone.
