Bad bottom plug problem

The bottom plug (wide one) does not appear to be working. Charging was sporadic for a while, then it quit no matter how many cables/male plugs I tried. It will not charge. iTunes will not recognize it when I plug into computer. I have blown it out with compressed air. Any other ways to clean? If damaged, can it be replaced?

Mike Phillips there really is no easy way. You will have to remove the logic board, use this guide for that. You now se the the dock connector is soldered to the logic board. In order to replace it you will have to unsolder all those connection and then replace the dock connector by soldering a new one in place. Here is a [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llfwxmP... showing how it's done.
