keep having to re-install os after boot failure. Only lasts 2/3 weeks.

Hi My macbook pro 15inch 2.5ghz late 2011 is failing to boot so I have to reinstall the OS which only last a couple of weeks or so before it fails to boot again.

Is my hard drive dead?

Also is the new seagate ST1000LM014 drive compatible with my device?

This logic board problem can take many forms. Get it in and have it tested. That failing, replace the hard drive cable. https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro...
