Hi,

First did you prove that the speakers are faulty by plugging in headphones/earphones into the 3.5mm socket?

If the sound is also "awful" it is not the speakers that are faulty. It will be the audio section on the mainboard.

Here are two links to show you how to open the Nabi 2, so that you can get to the speakers or the mainboard if you wish.

Even though this one is about a different problem it shows in the picture at Step 3. the unit open and I believe that you can see, what I believe to be the speakers - top of the picture -white plastic unit with the red and black wires going into it is one, the other is down the other end. Looks the same, enclosed in white plastic

The best I can find for replacement speakers or mainboards is this link from Ebay, which shows that they are selling the mainboard and speakers only.

We did put headphones in. It doesn't sound quite as bad. But, still has that blown speaker sound. Is there a way to do something for the audio section without opening the tablet?

by

Hi,

Unfortunately you cannot fix the audio without opening the tablet and even then it would not be easy to do, as there is probably no information publicly available e.g circuit diagrams, component values etc, to aid the repairer. The best option would be to replace the mainboard, with a known working one.
