No Touch after screen replacement

Hello,

So I'm a cell phone technician, and this has me confused. I repaired a woman's iPhone 6, and supposedly it worked fine for 2 days. They, she comes back in and says that the screen stopped sending touch. I have plugged over 15 screens into the phone, they all work for about 30 secs, or until I press on the connections. I am just wondering if this is an issue with the digitizer connector, or if it's an issue with the touch controller ic. Thanks

Weeeell, it does appear to be there touch IC. If you've checked many many parts, and can verify that's not the issue. First I would try to clean the digitizer socket, with 90 proof isopropyl alcohol. If that fails, you could check the touch ic. It's in step 13 of this guide. iPhone 5s Teardown

Keep in mind you'd have to reball the solder on this chip, using some expensive tools and some strong skills.

Thanks old turkey! You're so awesome!

My guess would be touch ic if you have touch and it fails after 30 seconds. There are two touch ics on the board. Usually the silver Broadcom chip fails, but sometimes the black ic fails.

Neither are DIY jobs. Send out for microsoldering service
