I just replaced my batteries in my Kindle fire hd 8.9, but broke the black tab that holds the flex cable to the screen side, so the cable will not stay attached. Is the anyway to fix this without replacing the screen?

yes there always is but it's hard for somebody without skill and without eq it's inpossible
(check out microsoldering on ifixit channel )
it's kinda $@$*!& way of doing but i preffer glue or something ...
i have $@$*!& soldering eq myself (it's way to expencive....) and with that you won't be able to replace a connector......
just try with tape or buy yourself that eq or lend it and repair that sucker Like a Boss
