Shows apple logo then turns off

I was updating some apps then restarted it and it would just show the logo for a couple of seconds then shuts off I tried restarting it to no availe then ran out the battery and restarted it still nothing. I didn't notice anything unusual during the first restart

An iPad 2 will behave like this if it has a poor connection to the battery. However, if it doesn't have a history of being recently opened, then it sounds like a software issue. Check to see if iTunes is detecting the iPad, and try to restore the software from scratch. If it fails the restore you likely have a chip-level defect. If it does restore then add back apps to see which one was causing the problem.
