Trackpad doesn't work even after updating driver software

Asus Vivobok S300CA

Well, i did update driver software and reinstalled the driver* for the trackpad and that did fix the problem and i can use my trackpad. The problem arise when turning my laptop back on again from hibernation mode and finding out that my driver has just simply disappeared, again. Is there a permanent fix for this issue? Or do i need to replace my trackpad?

FYI I'm just 14

*I got the driver from the Asus website

**i can type this becasue my laptop has touchscreen and i have an external mouse

Hi,

What OS are you using?

If Win 10 did you also install the ATKACPI driver (acpi manages power distribution to all integrated and additionally connected devices on the motherboard). I think that Hibernation and power management would be linked and if you haven't got it installed it doesn't hurt to install it.

Here is a link to the drivers page for your laptop. (you've probably been here already)

Another thought is that Asus does not seem to offer Win10 32bit drivers for your laptop only 64bit. If you are running Win10 is it 64bit or 32bit? Might not make a difference as far as drivers go for your laptop, but on other Asus equipment they offer both 32bit and 64bit drivers for Win10. Just a thought.

Hi Jayeff. I'm running Windows 10 64bit and i did Install the ATKACPI Driver but it's for windows 8 64 bit. Is there any deference between the two? Sorry for the late reply.

Hi,

Can't find info re differences between Win10 64 bit and Win 8 64 bit ATKACPI driver BUT they have updated the version for the Win10 release so whilst it may be backward compatible so that it works with Win8 the one released with Win 8 might not work with Win 10 if you catch my drift.

On a brighter note have found this link which "may"solve your problem. Also did read on the Asus site that the ATKACPI driver should be installed BEFORE the Smart Gesture (touch pad) driver http://ivanrf.com/en/latest-asus-drivers...
