Beer spilt on amplifier?

Beer was spilt on an amplifier or stereo, incident insued, my friend was responsible, i am blamed? can i fix this. It ran through the top and was very little?

robhansell first off you should tell us what amp this is. second, disassemble it and take a look at any obvious damage. You do need to clean the circuit board etc. with some high grade isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Of course, make sure it is all unplugged. Use this guide to add images of what your circuit boards look like. Depending on where and what damage you have, you will at least need some basic knowledge and skills.

assuming its been dried in front of a heater and fan and its still not turning on then its probably fried.

take it to a HIFI repair place and ask for a quote, generally quotes are free, if not don't pay more than $40, at least you will know.

if repairable it will be a micro soldering job. expect US$100 - US$200.

@syncedrepairsnz , how do you figure the cost and the microsoldering part without even knowing what make and model the amp is? You mean you are absolutely sure it could not be as simple as a fuse, cap or FET?
