Background is white where it should be black

I dropped my second gen ipod touch, cracking the digitizer and the lcd. I have replaced the screen with one that was working and turned it on to dicover that the entire back screen was white and the apple logo while rebooting is black. Everything else works, apps open, music plays, LCD still displays but its like there are no dark colours being displayed. Wondering if anyone has run into this problem before?

I don't know if there is a short somewhere that ruined the screen that was working fine until I put it in this ipod. I took that same screen out and put it into the ipod that it was working in and now that ipod displays the same thing, (mostly white display).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have completely stripped it down and it looks like there are "burn" marks on the flex cable where it is attached to the board. Not sure if this may be the problem or not. Waiting for new LCD to swap out for a new one to see if that is the only problem.
