Battery won't charge after battery replacement

I have just changed a broken screen on an iPhone 5s. When the screen was replaced, the phone worked just fine. Until I was going to charge it. The screen just shows that I have to put in the charger. When the charger is connected the screen just shows an empty battery symbol with a smal red bar. And nothing happens..

I have tried to reset it with holding the power- and the home button in together. But still no joy.

Any suggestions what to do?

Double check all of the connections, especially the connection for the lighting cable connector. If the lightning ribbon cable isn't plugged in well, it may not be able to charge.

Sounds like it could be the U2 charging IC issue.
