Battery icon has black X tried everything
Hi,
I am currently using a early 2008 macbook running on OS X 10.6.8. I did buy it second hand and I knew there was a battery problem but i've decided to fix it but I am having trouble. The battery icon has the X symbol on it. I have bought a new battery and it's still got the X. I've tried the SMC and PRAM reboots and nothing has happened. I downloaded the 'Coconut Battery' app and it just says N/A on everything. The laptop runs with just the power cord plugged in but i'm sick of using it this way. The new battery when pressing the little button on it all the lights come up green, whilst the old battery nothing happens.
This is what it says on system profiler.
