Digitizer Flex Cable Ripped?

I was replacing the Digitizer on a iPod touch 2nd Gen. It was working great even after a water damage fix, the frame did not sit as it should so the home button did not work. When i pried it back open as it was not totally back in it just popped back open and the flex cable ripped on the digitizer! Is there any fix to this?

Bummer. The ribbon cables are delicate. I've repaired/soldered a lot of very small electronics, but I don't know of anyway to repair a ribbon cable like that. I think your best bet is:

[linked product missing or disabled: IF140-001]

or

iPod touch (Gen 2) Front Panel Assembly

Depending on whether you want to deal with moving over the home button.

I would make sure that everything seats correctly in the phone with the old broken panel before installing the new panel so you don't risk any damage to it troubleshooting your original issue.
