Replacing a screen with water damage

I recently dropped my LG G3 into some water. It worked fine with no incident for about 2 weeks, until I started getting black flickering lines across the screen. This was also joined with the screen fading to darkness and then the screen turning off altogether. This has worsened now and it is rare to get the screen working for more than 30 secs a day.

As it responds to my touch still, I assume it is the lcd screen that is broken and not the digitiser (although I'll replace both if I repair it). My problem is, I don't want to spend £80ish on a new screen, to find out it is actually water damage to the motherboard which would make the repair to expensive for me. Any suggestions to determine whether it is screen damage or motherboard? And whether it is worth the rish?

the issue may not be the LCD at all it may just be the contacts from the board to the LCD before ordering a new screen take your phone apart and clean the board with 99% isopropal alcohol clean all the contacts. What happens is you think there's no water damage but there just enough moisture in the phone to start the corrosion process. So a good cleaning may be all that's needed . This is definitely cheaper than my fix. Good idea

If the logic board was the issue i would assume, and others can correct me, that the phone wouldn't be working at all. I think that all you need is to replace the lcd. I have been buying them on ebay with the frame attached , easier that way. but lg's have different model numbers for their logic boards so make sure you get the one that matches. The model numbers always start with "D" and have 3 numbers that follow
