Cost of iPhone6 Display

Hi there,

I recently cracked my iPhone 6 display, and I'm looking to get it replaced.

At the moment, Apple are charging £86.44 to replace the display. I was looking to see if I could do this myself, but the ifixit euro store is charging £94 for the part alone.

The phone has been out for over a year, so is there a reason why the part is still quite expensive?

Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

It's absolutely normal that the screen will cost a little expensive. The iPhone 6 isn't an old device it has only 1 year (Apple create a new iPhone every year...) And also, the 6s has approximatively the same components (Except the CPU A9 and other ameliorations)

I would only go to the Apple store for a replacement. There are many kinds of screen available in the market, Apple original, copy, aftermarket, refurbished e.t.c. If you go to a third party you run the risk of getting an inferior screen which is likely to cause problems down the track. To save 15 - 20 pounds going to a third party is simply not worth it. There is also a high chance you may break the front camera and proximity sensor while removing the screen if you try and DIY.

The screen prices are getting higher every week due to problems in china my cost for a 6 screen is $80 with 6 months warranty if i refurbish my own cost me $7 dollars i only buy the screen in case i get busy.

Theres several of options out there.
