Replacement lcd gets really bright when removing plastic film when tes

Hi!

I work as a smartphone techichian and have done so for the past 5 years. But today, i had some issues never seen before.

I installed an iPhone 5 screen (refurished original). All was fine. But then i removed the plastic protection film from the front of the screen -and bam! The lcd went really bright. Just as if someone adjusted the brightness of a tv. I put the film back, and everything was fine again. Anyone has an idea?

Heres a lik to a short movie i took of the issue.

Hi! Thanx for your reply!

I tried the scrren woth no front cam, and the light sensor is in the front cam, right? ( or maybe i'm drunk).

This issue if with a couple of my scrrens i have in stock, but with some it works just fine. Can it be that the screens are defect? I never seen this before, and it seems strange that almost like 20 screens would be defect. Any thoughts?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The ambient light sensor might be malfunctioning. It is located next to the listening part of the iPhone. Start the iPhone and turn off auto brightness in the Display & Brightness settings. Then remove the film. If the screen brightness changes when you remove the film. It could possibly be faulty since it shouldn't change automatically when the film is removed and the settings changed. It just might need calibration after removing the film.

The light sensor is next to the front facing camera. Try doing a hard reset on the phone (Holding down the Home and Power Button) until the screen goes blank.
