How can I fix a battery locking screw that snapped off?

I was installing a new replacement battery and it was a snug fit; I guess I turned the coin a little too strongly, and the plastic piece that covers the turn lock snapped off. What's the best way to go about getting this fixed? Could anything worse happen if I don't fix it?

This problem requires replacing the bottom case--not a task for the faint hearted. If you can retain the battery as is I think I would leave it alone. Ralph

RGCh say: Mend button in position with two drops of a flexible mending compound, let it dry 24-48 hours and it's fixed.
