Which part holds the contacts/text messages?

I have a broken Galaxy S4. With the original motherboard, I get a totally black, dead screen, no home/back button etc, just noises and the LED light.

I replaced the motherboard with a spare from a blocked phone, and it works perfectly - however as my contacts and texts weren't saved to my SIM, I cannot access them!

Which part on the motherboard holds that information? Can I swap that part over from the broken motherboard to the good one, or is there another way to access that information?

Answer this question I have this problem too

As far as I remember, the eMMC (Storage) is connected to the board with a Ball Grid Array connection, which is extremely difficult to reconnect once removed without proper equipment.

Did you sign into your Google Account on the previous device? If so then sign back into it on the repaired phone and it should sync your contacts back at least.
