Why won't my G4 Powerbook power up?

My aluminum PowerBook 1.67 will not recognize that it is plugged in. Battery does not charge and the laptop will not power up. The power source is good. It works on my wife's g4 13" lap top. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Are there any signs of life at all when you try to power on? Is there a light on the AC adapter plug, and if so, what is it, and is it stable, i.e. does it flicker?

I'm betting on Ben's suggestion, because I often see people trying to use 45W adapters on PowerBook 15"s, but if it's not that, you might try moving the memory to the other slot, and testing one slot at a time by leaving a memory bank open and seeing if that makes a difference.

Also, try resetting the PMU by holding down the power button for 15 seconds until you (hopefully) see the sleep light flicker and then hear a tone.

A long shot, but is the power source 45 watt or 65 watt (it says on the white brick)? The 15" Aluminums require 65 watts to boot, but it should still charge...

Your next check is the dc-in board (Model A1096 or Model A1138 - check ID your Mac to be sure which machine you have).

After that, it looks like the logic board.
