First, make sure you have new batteries in your camera. If this does not work, I have a few more suggestions for you.

Taken from the Kodak EasyShare Troubleshooting Guide: If your lens is not fully extending the motor may be broken or malfunctioning. If this is the case, the lens assembly will need to be replaced: Lens Repair Guide. The issue could also be your logic board, which means that you will need to send your unit back to Kodak for repairs. This can be pricey and you may want to consider replacing your camera.

Lastly, make sure you check out Kodak Support for this camera. Also, follow Kodak's Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair Guide.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here is some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.
