Using the iPhone Camera minus the phone?

I am an HO scale model railroader and have some questions regarding the apple iPhone Camera. Thanks to its small size it would be perfect for filming on a model railroad and I would like to know is it possible to use this with a different recording item to store the video or have it outside the iPhone via and extension cord of some sort. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it,

Keegan

Keegan, can you give an example of what you want to do with video, after recording is done? May help with Ideas. I use YouTube and Dropbox to store my videos, and can upload immediately from my iPhone.

You can record a video with your iPhone, and instead of saving on your phone, upload immediately to another app to edit at a later date! Then delete from your phone to avoid using up your phone's storage.

My other tip for continuing to record or take pics when your iPhone says "Not enough storage to take video or photo":

• Go to another app and use the camera from there ( for example your iMessage app, Instagram, or Aviary app, etc...).

• Instead of saving to your phone, send to a storage space to edit later (Dropbox, YouTube, etc..) or my fav: send as a text to yourself! That way you can view and decide later if you want to save to edit later (works esp great for photos)!

Let me know if this helps!!!!
