My iPhone fell in the water

My 3G worked for a couple hours then died.

My PC doesn't recognize it, and it just shows the Apple logo.

hi, just answered this on your other post. open the phone up using ifixit guide, clean with isopropyl alcohol, allow to dry. check dock connector/cable 4 connection/ if no charge getting to battery and not recognised by itunes this is more than likely the problem. maybe the battery shorted and you don't have enough power to run the phone. they're pretty cheap to replace

HI,

I will clean it at once than if i have to replace what do you mean by " dock connector/cable 4 connection " ?

is it the dock connector part @ 39.95 or anything else?

I couldn't find that" 4 connection " you were talking about anywhere.

its this part iPhone 3G Dock Connector

try changing battery. the thing is can't say for definite which is the problem- battery which can't be charged or dock connector which won't.

have had to change both ! good luck

You have dropped it in water, so your warranty is already void.

I would follow the advice on cleaning and battery replacement, then dock replacement, or do both.

btw it's cable connection no 4 (numbers are on all the connectors or you can refer to the guides for tear down/repairs for dock connector/battery which will show you) the connector for the dock you plug the usb into..

you're right for the warranty but Apple says if I open it they won't give me a discount phone in replacement.
