White spots on LCD due to water damage

Hey

I have a problem with the LCD on my early 2015 Macbook Pro. As you can see from the pictures the screen is covered in white spots, and if you look carefully you can see faint white diagonal lines across the screen. The laptop is not covered by warranty as I bought it from an insurance company on the cheap.

I guess I can't avoid taking the lcd assembly apart, but my question is if I also must buy a new lcd. Do you think I can fix it by taking it apart, cleaning the inside between the glass the the lcd, and putting it back together? Or you you think I also need to entirely replace the lcd? If so, am I correct in that the lcd is identical to the one in the Macbook Pro 2013 and 2014?

Comments are very appreciated!

Although it's pretty worthless, a tech could use it for test purposes.

This looks like typical backlight damage from water. Best bet to replace the entire LCD assembly and sell the old one on ebay. Trying to replace just the backlight layers is near impossible. Also i am almost positives it is the same LCD as the late 2013 & Mid 2014 A1502 Retinas.
