I cannot get the device to charge up anymore
It was working fine then I went to charge it and nothing happens. I cannot get device to turn on

Lauri Struble this could be caused by a bad battery or a bad port. For that you will have to disassemble your GoPro and check to make sure that your port gets the right voltage when plugged in. Take a look at this teardown and see if that is something you want to tackle.

I tried a new battery and will give the port a try. I want to mention that the device gets hot when I put a battery in. Wondering if it could be something else because of that issue?

Getting hot while providing power usually means it's a short circuit. you may have to take a close look at the circuitboard to see if there is any obvious damage etc.
